Tormented Homeless Irishman
This drawing, graphite on canvas, was copied from an image taken by photographer Don McCullin of a tormented homeless Irishman in London in 1969. I started it as the under drawing for a portrait in oils at a class I've been attending. I missed the class this week so I have just carried on with the drawing and hope I've not over worked it. I really wanted to get the look of fear on his face. He had white marks on his face and his eyes were piercing and underlined with white.I hope this will show up more at the painting stage as it's not white enough in the drawing. When it's finished I'll post the photograph alongside the painting for comparison
